Members of the REMODEL community gathered at Imperial College London for Tetrahedron VIII, held from 13 to 15 July 2026 and hosted by Joaquim Peiró and David Moxey.
The international workshop brought together researchers and practitioners working across three-dimensional mesh generation and its use in industrial numerical simulation. The programme spanned much of REMODEL’s own research territory, from high-order and adaptive meshing to parallel mesh generation, computer-aided design, complex geometries and emerging machine-learning approaches. Alongside the many diverse talks, several REMODEL members presented their own research, contributing directly to the exchange of ideas across the wider meshing community.
Away from the formal programme, the group held an informal brainstorming session on future research directions, cross-project connections and opportunities for closer collaboration; a chance to step back from day-to-day work and think about the project’s broader technical ambitions.
The workshop also gave REMODEL members the chance to meet with Bob Haimes, whose presentation introduced EGADSlite and explored the role of geometry technologies in scalable simulation workflows, sparking a useful exchange on areas of shared interest.
With strong in-person attendance from REMODEL, the workshop was a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, discuss common technical challenges and strengthen ties across the international meshing community.
